I-A-F 118

This happy, active four- year-old girl was born December 29, 2005 and she has tested positive for HIV. Despite her diagnosis this beautiful little girl is healthy and progressing on target in all areas.  The orphanage social worker states that she is “friendly in nature” and always has a smile on her face. She is described as a sweet loving child. This lovely child would thrive in the care of one of our confident and accepting families, and benefit greatly from the specialized treatment and resources available in the US.

I-P-F-119

A nine-year-old girl who is a friendly and social child and shares a good rapport with other children and caregivers, she has tested positive for HIV.  She is described by the social worker as a confident, active child who is physical and mental development is considered average. We believe that this otherwise normal, very healthy and beautiful child would thrive in the care of a confident and accepting family, and benefit greatly from the specialized treatment resources available here in the US.

Int’l Adoption Country Program: MOLDOVA

Moldova adoption special needs HIV

Children with HIV are currently registered for international adoption in Moldova according to Carolina Adoption Services. Waiting child profiles can be seen on RainbowKids.com. According to the agency, parents’ age should be between 25-50. Married couples and single women are eligible with this agency (I need to do more research to find out if the Moldovan government allows single men). Two trips are required of 7-10 days each. Moldova is a small country in Eastern Europe between Ukraine and Romania. Other agencies working in the country include Beacon House, Adoption Avenues, Life Adoption Services, Children’s House International, and Children of All Nations. Baby Girl Adoption Opportunity

These babies are all in the same HIV/AIDS orphanage  with the 1-2 year olds and the 3-4 year olds. Multiple unrelated children can be adopted from this orphanage. The babies in this orphanage are not released for international adoption until they are 18 months old. The children above were all born to HIV-positive birthmothers, although not all of the children are living with HIV. I can inquire about specific children as this orphanage does have PCR test. These babies are not yet registered for international adoption although it may be possible to start your adoption paperwork before the child is registered so you are ready to travel when he/she becomes available. The HIV-negative babies will be adopted by local families. If you start your paperwork in advance, you may be able to adopt one of the HIV-positive babies close to the 18 month age. The first 8 pictures were taken in October 2010.  Only married couples can adopt from this country and one of the parents must be within 45 years of the age of the child. I am happy to answer any questions I can about the general adoption process from this country.

Toddlers Waiting for Adoptive Families

These children are at the same HIV/AIDS orphanage is this previous post. Multiple children from the same orphanage can be adopted simultaneously and the additional fees involved to adopt a second child are nominal. Only married couples may adopt from this country.

*I don’t know her date of birth but she is 3 years old and I have heard that SHE IS NOW REGISTERED for international adoption. She is a sociable and friendly girl.

Boy. I don’t know his date of birth or if he is registered for international adoption. If you are interested in this little guy, please be in touch and I will inquire. He is not as active as some of the other kids. He really opens up with one-on-one attention. When I visited in March 2010, he was the youngest in his group and not walking yet. He is a very sweet little boy.

Waiting Child Photolisting – BOY born 2004

African child with HIV waiting for adoptionHolt International waiting child photolisting. Child ID B09_37. East Africa.

This is a little boy who loves toys and is described as jolly. He is reported to be developing quite well and easily adapts to many environments. He currently attends a class at the care center kindergarten. This little boy came into care a few days after his birth. His birth mother was reported to be suffering from a mental illness. He was admitted to the hospital once for neonatal sepsis. In May 2010 he had malaria and received treatment, and is now stated to be doing well. He also recently tested HIV-positive. He is reportedly learning to jump rope and loves to sing. This cheerful little boy waits for a family who is comfortable with his diagnosis and who can provide him with the ongoing medical care that he will need.

To adopt this child, couples must be between the ages of 25-44 and married for at least 2 years. They can have up to five children in the home. Hold is looking for a few families who are flexible and have a pioneering spirit. If you are interested in adopting from this new program, please call the Holt Africa staff to discuss the program: 531-687-2202.
